The Botany and Mycology Section in the Department of Evolutionary Biology, Ecology and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Biology at the University of Barcelona (UB) pursues several lines of research aimed at deepening the theoretical and practical knowledge of plants and fungi.

The section works on cryptogamy, and its main lines of research are lichenology, from morphological taxonomy and floristic documentation to bioindication and molecular taxonomy; the mycology and algology of epicontinental waters, with different lines of application; and bryology.
